Women in the Digital World: The Microsoft Approach

Alain Crozier and his team at have just spent a full day introducing 350 young girls, aged 13 & 14, to the digital world. The President of Microsoft, France, is determined to see more girls choose technology – specifically engineering – as a vocation once their schoolwork is completed. It’s not a question of equal opportunity – it’s also a question of filling the country’s demand for an additional 40-50K software engineers, and Crozier figures the biggest growth sector is the fairer sex.
