Last week’s deadly train crash outside of Philadelphia set off alarm bells and Congressional debate about the role of the US government and its funding for and oversight of Amtrak: was it enough? Was the money properly used? Who’s to say? And who’s in charge? The underlying issue is more than the train wreck; it is one of leadership.
